Weekend Tip Sheet

The following are our best football betting tips from the selected fixtures in the English Premier League, The Championship and across Europes Major leagues, covering matches taking place between the 29th and 31st December, 2018

Premier League | Brighton vs Everton

Everton are the entertainers this Christmas. A 6-2 loss to Spurs was followed by a 5-1 away win at Burnley, as Silva’s side continue to swim against the stream in mid-table. The quality is there, however, they continue to leak goals constantly. Brighton showed their strengths in their home draw with Arsenal – Hughton will be confident in another positive result at the Amex Stadium. With Everton’s recent form, over 2.5 goals looks good value at 2.00. Everton to get the victory, also, as they use their high from Wednesday’s rout.

Premier League | Tottenham vs Wolves

Eleven goals in two matches over the festive period: Tottenham are stating their claim for a run at the Premier League title after catching up Man City into second spot. Son has proved a key component in this improvement with his four goals in two matches; their midfield continues to outrun each of their oppositions. Wolves are in tenth, continuing to consolidate their position as a mid-table Premier League side; their lack goals will continue to prove a hurdle as they aim higher. Tottenham look the form side in the league at the moment, with their interchanging midfield hard to stop.

Premier League | Southampton vs Man City

It’s a crisis for Man City at the moment. Three losses in their last four Premier League outings has seen them slip to third position, now seven behind leaders Liverpool. Southampton’s mini-revival under new boss Ralph Hasenhuttl hasn’t gone unnoticed in the league. They have climbed out of the bottom three, with a concentration on survival still evident. It’s not going to be the easiest place for Pep’s side to travel to expectant of three points, but it’s hard to envisage the champions losing three league games on the spin. It may prove nervier than expected, however.

Premier League | Man Utd vs Bournemouth

United are rolling again. They midfield are creating chances, with goals being found all over the pitch. They’ve scored eight in their two fixtures since Jose’s departure, and are strong favorites to record another comprehensive victory over a wounded Bournemouth this weekend. The Cherries were hit for five by Spurs on Wednesday, with Eddie Howe’s side now slipping into the bottom half of the league. United are due a clean sheet. They’ve struggled to shut teams out all season, but with Bournemouth scoring just two in their last four, they have a chance here.

The Championship | Norwich vs Derby

Derby’s recent run of form has seen them slip to sixth after knocking on the door of the top two. Norwich are one of those top two, sitting three points clear of West Brom in third. Norwich will be high on confidence after clawing back a 3-3 draw with Forest on Wednesday after they were staring down the barrel of a 3-0 loss with fifteen minutes to go. Derby will take a point here, in a match that is expected to be close. The last two meetings have finished in 1-1 draws.

The Championship | Millwall vs Nott'm Forest

Millwall’s home win against Reading on Wednesday was a huge sigh of relief for the Lions. The South London outfit have escaped the bottom three with that victory, however, their home challenge to the dangerous Forest is a steeper hill to climb. Forest are down to tenth without a win in their last four; this being said, they still have an unquestionable quality in their squad. With twelve draws, the Reds have dropped too many points this season. They should be able to escape the Den with all three this time around.

Serie A | AC Milan vs Spal

Milan won their fixtures against SPAL by an aggregate of 6-0 last season; they’ll be looking for a confidence-boosting win on Saturday after struggling to break down sides of late. Slipping to sixth, Milan have failed to win in their last four league matches – more worryingly, without finding the net. Three 0-0s in four matches have allowed rumours of Gattuso’s sacking to resurface, with Wenger – apparently – waiting to step in. SPAL are also struggling for form. They’ve won just four of their eighteen matches this season and are unlikely to cause too many problems at the San Siro. SPAL have never scored against Milan. This should continue this weekend.

Serie A | Napoli vs Bologna

Napoli’s 1-0 loss to Inter on Wednesday was marred by off the field incidents; it may act as a positive in team morale, as Napoli look to bounce back against a troubled Bologna. The visitors have just two victories in their 18 matches this season and are likely to cause the third best defence in the league problems. Napoli are averaging at just under two goals a game this season, and should be well positioned to beat Bologna by with a -2 handicap.
