Midweek Tip Sheet

The following are our best football betting tips from the selected fixtures in the English Premier League, The Championship and across Europes Major leagues, and League Cups covering matches taking place between the 5th to the 7th March 2019

Premier League | Brighton vs Cardiff City

A huge fixture at the bottom of the Premier League, as 17th hosts 18th in the battle for survival. Brighton left the AMEX with their tails between their legs on Saturday after a 5-0 home drubbing to Bournemouth. With a dangerous run-in awaiting the Seagulls, points against their fellow strugglers are paramount if they are to stay afloat. Cardiff’s loss at Burnley wasted a good opportunity to pressure Brighton. The Seagulls are typically good at home, and Hughton will emphasize the importance of Tuesday’s fixture to his squad. A narrow Brighton win would all but settle the relegation conversation.

Champions League | Barcelona vs Man United

It’s Mission Improbable for Man United, as they travel to the Nou Camp looking to overturn a 1-0 deficit against the Catalan giants. Failing to register a shot on target against Barca last week incited questioning surrounding the tactics Solskjaer implemented; they know they’ll need to score in Spain on Tuesday. Barca were held this weekend by Huesca, however, a heavily rotated team allowed their stars to get a much needed rest ahead of this quarter-final second leg. Messi’s drought in this stage of the competition will surely come to an end; back Barcelona to open up United as they struggle defensively.

Champions League | Juventus vs Ajax

It’s finely poised in Turin, as Ajax arrive knowing they need to score on Tuesday in order to progress to the semi-finals. A 1-1 draw in Amsterdam with goals either side of the half-time whistle was a fair result; as good as Ajax were, Juventus always looked dangerous on the counter. Juventus have won 22 of their last 25 home matches, losing just once. It’ll take a monster effort from Ajax, who will be relying on squeezing the Old Lady into extra-time.

Champions League | Porto vs Liverpool

Salah and Mane eased Klopp’s Premier League worries on Sunday as they eased past Chelsea in their biggest challenge left in their domestic season. A 2-0 lead against Porto may allow rotation in the midfield, however, the German boss won’t risk too many changes. A Liverpool goal will force Porto to score four times to progress; this will mean a quick start from the Reds as they look to punish a questionable Porto defence. This fixture finished 0-5 last season…

Both teams to score @ 1.80

Serie A | Lazio vs Udinese

Lazio missed an opportunity at the weekend. A late loss to Milan has seen their chances of a top four finish all but implode, with just seven matches remaining this season. I Biancocelesti have enjoyed a good run of late at the Stadio Olimpico. In their last ten home matches, just one loss to Juventus has stunted their progression up the Serie A table. Udinese’s away form is a huge concern. They haven’t won in their last twelve on the road, with just four points keeping them out of the bottom three. Lazio should win this at a canter.

Lazio 2-0 Udinese @ 6.00

UEFA Europa League | Slavia Praha vs Chelsea

Chelsea bring a 1-0 lead back to Stamford Bridge on Thursday night, as they look to move into the semi-finals of the Europa League with little fuss. A loss to Liverpool on Sunday reiterated how important this competition is to Sarri’s men, as they struggle to keep their place in the top four of the league. Giroud, Pedro and Willian will probably keep their place in Chelsea’s “B-Team”, with a possession-based approach looking to drown the Czech side in West London. Chelsea will probably score early putting this tie to bed.

Half time result – Chelsea @ 1.80

UEFA Europa League | Arsenal vs Napoli

A lack of incentive has forced Ancelotti’s Napoli to become a little uninspired. They’ve had second spot in the league sewn up for most of the season, and despite being able to rest players, they looked a little sloppy in North London last week. This being said, Napoli have only lost at home to Juventus in their last 29 matches. Arsenal are still shaky on the road, however, a goal will force Napoli to net four times in Naples. This could go down to the wire, with goals galore.

Over 2.5 goals @ 1.61

UEFA Europa League  | Villarreal vs Valencia

This all-Spanish quarter-final looks done and dusted already. Valencia have a 3-1 advantage coming back to the Mestalla, with Villarreal knowing they need to score three times in Valencia. Results have varied between these two in recent years, with a 3-1 away victory for Villarreal in just 2017 a reminder of the feat they can achieve on Thursday. They’ll need to score early if they are to complete a historic comeback, however, Valencia haven’t lost at home in 18 matches…

Under 2.5 goals @ 1.90
