Weekend Tip Sheet

The following are our best football betting tips from the selected fixtures in the English Premier League, The Championship and across Europes Major leagues, and League Cups covering matches taking place between the 8th and 10th March 2019.

Premier League | Tottenham vs West Ham

Unblemished at their new stadium, Spurs will look to turn the screw on the rest of the top four ‘contenders’ with a dominant display against their London rivals. A last-minute Eriksen winner stole all three points from Brighton on Tuesday; Tottenham’s attack will be allowed to flow more against an adventurous West Ham. Spurs are unbeaten in four of their last five meetings with the Hammers, with a 3-1 away win in their League Cup meeting in October. West Ham has just one point from their last four league matches and look ready for the summer. Pochettino will rotate, slightly, but will have enough ammo to gather all three points.

Tottenham to win @ 1.40

Under 2.5 goals @ 2.50

Premier League | Leicester vs Arsenal

Arsenal is self-capitulating in their attempt to gain a Champions League spot. Losses to Crystal Palace and Wolves (conceding six goals) has punctuated their troubles in defence at the worst possible time. Leicester is still in the hunt for a Europa League spot and look well-composed under Rodgers. Arsenal aren’t playing well enough to grind out a win; they have only kept one away clean sheet all season. Vardy loves playing against the ‘Big 6’, with the striker likely to net.

Leicester or draw @ 1.53

Jamie Vardy to score anytime @ 2.37

Premier League | Burnley FC vs Man City

City’s win at Old Trafford on Wednesday was widely regarded as their last real hurdle in their quest for back-to-back Premier League titles. A 2-0 win was enough to see off their rivals, however, Dyche’s Burnley is one of the form sides in the division. Unbeaten in their last four, the hosts will be confident of spoiling City’s party, with Burnley holding them to a 1-1 draw at Turf Moor last season. City matches feature an average of 3.17 goals in the league this season with over 2.5 expected again on Sunday. Expect City to get the win, but at 1.14, they are worth avoiding in the outrights.

Over 2.5 goals @ 1.40

Premier League | Brighton vs Newcastle

Brighton suffered a killer blow from Eriksen after 177 minutes of defensive action against Wolves and Spurs. The pressure is still on Cardiff to hunt the Seagulls down, but with a home match against Newcastle the stand-out fixture for Brighton to take points from, Hughton will feel the pressure on Saturday tea-time. Brighton hasn’t scored in their last six, but with Murray expected to start, the timing is right for a much-needed home win. Newcastle has got better and better this season, but motivation will be low on the south coast.

Brighton to win @ 2.30

Championship | Leeds vs Aston Villa

Leeds look to have thrown away their chance of automatic promotion for another season. With two games remaining they trail Sheffield United by three points, with the Blades enjoying a much easier run-in than Bielsa’s boys. If anything, Leeds vs Villa this weekend is quite possibly a dress rehearsal for the playoffs. Villa has won their last ten matches and are without a doubt the form side in the country; a trip to Leeds lacks any real pressure, with their place in the top six confirmed. Two wins each and two draws in their last six meetings prove how finely balanced this one will be. Leeds’ bubble has burst, with Villa ready to pounce.

Aston Villa or draw @ 2.10

Championship | Bristol City vs Derby County

In a huge face-off for the sixth playoff spot, Bristol City vs Derby is the standout Championship game of the weekend. Derby have battled back into sixth after some inconsistent patches throughout the season, and with City not picking up a win in their last three, Lampard’s side will be confident of their visit west. Four draws have made up the last five meetings, and with Derby arguably accepting that at kick-off, this looks like another tight encounter.

Bristol City vs Derby draw @ 3.40

Serie A | Inter Milan vs Juventus

Champions Juventus will be looking to sign off the season in style; they still have the chance to break the 100-point tally this season, if they can remain unbeaten in their final five matches. Inter are close to securing their Champions League spot with sides below them tripping over every hurdle. Ronaldo is three goals off the pace in the race for Serie A’s golden boot. You can imagine CR9 will register on the scoresheet in Milan, despite the hosts boasting a strong defensive home record.

Cristiano Ronaldo to score @ 2.20

Serie A | Torino vs Milan

With just one win in their last seven matches, Milan looks adamant in undoing all their good work at the start of the season as they stumble over the line in Serie A and the Coppa Italia. They are in danger of missing out on the final, as well as a Champions League spot, with five teams separated by just four points from positions four to eight. Milan has one win in their last five away matches, with a reliance on the goals of Piatek an obvious weight around their necks. A win for Torino could see them leapfrog Milan, leaving them without a seat at the European table. Torino games have featured the least goals out of the whole league this season; back a nervy 90.

Under 2.5 goals @ 1.61
