English Premier League – Betting Tips
Premier League Betting Tips – 17th – 20th August, 2018
The following are betting tips for selected fixtures in the English Premier League, covering matches taking place between the 17th and 20th August, 2018.
Cardiff City vs Newcastle
Unfortunately, Cardiff City still look like a Championship side battling with the task of staying afloat in the Premier League. Newcastle showed glimpses of athleticism and skill against Tottenham, however, that end product is still an issue. Cardiff need to rely on their home form this season; their 16 wins from 23 at the Cardiff City Stadium was the joint best in the Championship last campaign. Newcastle only picked up four wins on the road last season and with concerns surrounding Benitez’s future they may well struggle in Wales.

Leicester vs Wolves
Leicester surprised everyone at how well they dominated parts of the game against Man United last weekend; it was little surprise at how good Wolves looked, in parts, against Everton. Claude Puel needs a victory to relieve the pressure on his job, however, Wolves will smell blood. Their inventiveness in midfield should be enough to breach the defence at the King Power, but a draw is still a likely result.

Man City vs Huddersfield
Huddersfield got a famous point in Manchester at the end of last season; don’t expect Wagner’s tail to be wagging in similar fashion this season. City have changed their attack, with Mahrez’s technical ability slowing down more deliberate attacks. This may allow City to pick holes in the Terriers defence a lot easier than their typical pace-attacks of last campaign. Huddersfield won 13 points on the road last year, with City only dropping seven at home. This one will go as planned for Pep, with the City’s rotation allowing for a plethora of goal-scorers.

Brighton vs Man United
There are still problems bubbling under the surface at Man United, with Jose Mourinho painting a frustrated figure on the touchline. Brighton struggled on the opening weekend, but with substantial investment over the summer the Seagulls look good to contest these bigger occasions. Brighton won this fixture 1-0 in May, and Chris Hughton will be confident of a repeat at the AMEX.

Crystal Palace vs Liverpool
Liverpool’s new signings look a perfect fit into Klopp’s squad; pace, power and athleticism flows through this side beautifully. Hodgson’s Crystal Palace look hopeful of a top ten finish if they can keep hold of their main threat: Wilfried Zaha. Liverpool have won this fixture the last three seasons, with scores of 2-1, 4-2 and 2-1, expect this trend to continue with both teams finding the net. Liverpool’s ammunition should be too much for a well-drilled Hodgson side.
