Weekend Tip Sheet, 8th March 2019 | Football Betting Tips | Football Advisor

Midweek Tip Sheet

The following are our best football betting tips from the selected fixtures in the English Premier League, The Championship and across Europes Major leagues, and League Cups covering matches taking place between the 8th and 10th March 2019.

Premier League | Man City vs Watford

Back on top of the Premier League summit, Pep Guardiola will feel a lot happier being the hunted than the hunter. A point ahead of Liverpool coming into a home fixture against Watford, the Spaniard knows he has nine games to safely negate City’s defence of the crown. They’ve scraped by in previous weeks; the mark of a championship winning team. Watford is in great form in a scrap against Wolves for the title of ‘best of the rest’. They’ve won four of their last five, with a 5-0 away drubbing to Liverpool a big blotch on a consistent copybook. City has won the past nine meetings with over 2.5 goals being scored in seven of them. The Hornets have rolled over in the past and a similar pattern is expected to follow this weekend. City will flourish with the title back in their hands.

Man City to win and over 3.5 goals @ 1.95

Premier League | Liverpool vs Burnley FC

It’s all getting a bit much for Klopp and Liverpool. In honesty, “bottling it” doesn’t seem a suitable term when comparing their squad to the depth and talent-ridden Man City. After their stalemate in the Merseyside derby, a home fixture against one of the third worst defence in the league is aptly timed. If Liverpool doesn’t notch up a convincing 22nd win of their campaign then it all starts to look a little bleak. Burnley have lost their last two but look capable enough to turn it on when it matters to avoid the drop. Liverpool has a tendency of making hard work of this fixture and may struggle to get out of first gear in front of the pressure-filled Kop.

Under 2.5 goals @ 2.75

Premier League | Leicester City vs Fulham

It’s a battle of the new-boys inside the King Power on Saturday as Brendan Rogers looks to get up-and-running as Leicester’s new manager. Scott Parker resumes in the Fulham dugout after a spirited performance in the West London derby; it looks like the Cottagers are doomed, however, Parker’s injection of passion may prove beneficial in their search for pride in the coming months. The issue with Fulham has been in defence all season. They’ve lost nine of the last ten and have conceded a staggering 65 goals in the league; Leicester is too savvy going forward to blank.

Leicester to win @ 1.57

Over 2.5 goals @ 1.72

Premier League | Southampton vs Tottenham

Tottenham’s European heroics have arguably come at a price in the league. Without a win in their last three domestic outings, Spurs have been sucked back into a race for the top four, with Man United, Arsenal and Chelsea nipping at their heels. Saints are still fending off Cardiff sitting just two points in front of their relegation rivals. Two teams that like to attack is surely going to amount to goals; both teams have scored in their last six meetings. BTTS is a no-brainer at 1.70.

Both teams to score @ 1.70

Championship | Nottingham Forest vs Hull City

Forest have coughed and spluttered for a majority of this season without making a convincing argument for their place in the playoffs. They may only be four points off Bristol City in sixth, but with only two back-to-back victories in the league all season (way back in September), it’s been hard going to maintain any momentum. Saying this, they still look more likely at the City Ground. Forest have won four of their last five on home soil, with Saturday’s visitors Hull City without an away win in their last five. They’ve conceded 14 in those five; Forest is capable of taming the Tigers.

Nottm Forest to win @ 2.20

Championship | Derby County vs Sheffield Wednesday

Derby dropped out of playoff contention after three back-to-back league losses in February, but with a well-fought home win against Wigan something to build upon, the Rams will be looking to sting aside six places below them. Derby has only lost three league matches at Pride Park this season; Wednesday aren’t scoring enough goals to cause another upset for Lampard’s side in 2019. Back the unders market here, with the home side keeping it tight until a breakthrough arrives.

Under 2.5 goals @ 1.72

Serie A | Fiorentina vs Lazio

Viola has really fallen off the pace in recent weeks; this doesn’t mean that Fiorentina matches haven’t been exciting! 21 goals in their last four matches have seen Pioli’s side gain just four points from a possible nine and a tantalising draw in the Coppa Italia. They’ve dropped to tenth in Serie A, with Lazio, Sunday’s visitors, winning three of their last four. One of them was in the Rome derby last weekend, so expect positivity to be flowing from Simone Inzaghi’s side. Lazio is established on the road this season having won without conceding in Empoli, Parma, Bologna and Frosinone. It won’t be as straight-forward this weekend, but it should entertain.

Over 3.5 goals @ 3.40

La Liga | Valladolid vs Real Madrid

Life on the road will seem a lot sweeter to Madrid than the dreaded Bernabeu at the moment. Los Blancos have lost their last four home games – twice to Barcelona, once to Ajax and Girona. The only thing left for Solari this season is to regain the second spot from their City rivals, Atleti. Barcelona is twelve points away and with eight league defeats already this season it’s been one to forget in the first post-Ronaldo campaign (for some time). Don’t sleep on Valladolid. Yes, they haven’t won in their last five, but all eyes will be on this uninspired Madrid outfit. They need an injection of passion, an injection of belief; they should just stumble over the line this weekend.

Both teams to score @ 1.61
