Weekend Tip Sheet, 15th March 2019 | Football Betting Tips | Football Advisor

Midweek Tip Sheet

The following are our best football betting tips from the selected fixtures in the English Premier League, The Championship and across Europes Major leagues, and League Cups covering matches taking place between the 8th and 10th March 2019.

Premier League | Bournemouth vs Newcastle

Bournemouth got back to winning ways last weekend in a 2-0 away triumph against Huddersfield. The problem is: everyone is beating the Terriers. Saturday’s visitors Newcastle will prove a much tougher test for Eddie Howe, with Benitez’s side enjoying a fine run of form (taking 10 points from their last 15 on offer). For as much as the Cherries struggle to keep clean sheets, Newcastle have scored just 29 in the league this campaign; the worst tally outside of the bottom three. The fixture feels low-scoring, with both sides cantering towards safety for another season.

Premier League | Burnley vs Leicester

Burnley continues to be sucked back into the relegation scrap after seemingly breaking free. Cardiff’s sporadic wins have meant Dyche’s side sit just two points off the drop, with Saturday looking a very winnable match against a Leicester side who are a) playing for very little b) adapting to life under Brendan Rodgers. Leicester have won some big matches on the road this season, however, a trip to Burnley reeks of a potential banana skin. Burnley have won this fixture at Turf Moor on the last two occasions. They are a great price to make it three.

Premier League | Fulham vs Liverpool

Liverpool’s win in Munich on Wednesday set them up perfectly for a weekend where they can regain top spot in the league. Sure, this is largely down to the fact that City has a FA Cup tie to negate, however, a trip to the Cottage is a perfect venture for Klopp’s Reds. Fulham’s loss to Leicester at the weekend all but confirmed their return to the Championship next season; Liverpool won’t waste this opportunity. There is an argument to rest one of Firmino, Salah or Mane on Sunday, but with this infamous trio working wonders in attack in recent weeks, Klopp may not be willing to take the smallest of risks. Who could blame him?

Premier League | Everton vs Chelsea

Chelsea have famously struggled at this ground in years gone by and with both teams under-performing this season it’s an intriguing fixture at the time of the season that it’s fallen. Silva has looked too brave against the bigger sides this season, refusing to play a more reserved style of play. This characteristic may prove lethal against a fragile Chelsea side who continue to struggle on the road. The Blues are a couple of league defeats away from being forced to prioritize the Europa League this season as a gateway to the Champions League. Just one Goodison Park win in their last four visits for Chelsea isn’t happy reading – especially considering they were years of title challenges.

FA Cup | Watford vs C Palace

Watford vs C Palace

A fantastic chance for one of these London clubs to reach the semi-final of the FA Cup, in a season where many of the big sides have already fallen. Watford are winning their 50/50 matches and losing heavily to the big guns: a good formula to find themselves fighting for the title of ‘Best of the Rest in the Premier League. Six of Palace’s nine league wins have come on the road this season, however, Watford’s robust midfield will target the ingenuity of Palace’s creative sparks with a stop-start nature expected. This is so tight to call with a draw in 90 minutes providing the only real value.

Watford vs Palace draw @ 3.20

FA Cup | Swansea vs Man City

City scored another seven in midweek, meaning they have won 5-0, 6-0, 7-0, 7-0, 9-0 already in 2019. The scoring power of this City side shouldn’t surprise us; Swansea will be wary of another pummeling on Saturday coming into the fixture with questionable form. Pep’s side look to be coming to the boil at the perfect time in their pursuit of a historic quadruple. The odds are still stacked against them, but if they are to stumble over a hurdle in the upcoming months it won’t be against the Swans. Gabriel Jesus will be trusted in this fixture, and City’s striker surely won’t blank in a fixture where they could notch up four or five.

FA Cup | Millwall vs Brighton

Brighton’s win in the “Southern Trains Derby” last weekend will have buoyed them into a winnable fixture at The Den. Brighton’s ability to play the side, not the occasion, will ultimately prove whether they are to reach the second FA Cup semi-final in their history. Millwall’s season has become underpinned by this cup run. Struggling in nineteenth in the Championship, The Lions will be reliant on a hostile atmosphere to add Brighton to their list of scalps this season. Brighton struggle on the road and are highly susceptible to tripping up here. This one looks likely to be settled in added time/penalties.

Millwall vs Brighton draw @ 3.30

Brighton to win on penalties @ 11.00

Championship | Leeds vs Sheffield United

A win for either in this top of the Championship clash will put down a huge marker for promotion. Just two points separate these sides who sit in second and third, respectively, with Norwich setting the pace two clear of Leeds. A win for Leeds at Bramall Lane in December showed Bielsa’s tactics working in fine order; however, Sheff. United have proved hard to beat on the road since then. With 63 goals each these are two of the most finely balanced sides in the league – the overpowering desire not to lose this fixture may turn it into a cagey affair. United will be delighted with a point, and considering they have lost just one away match in their last 10, this is achievable.

Under 2.5 goals @ 1.80
