Midweek Tip Sheet

The following are our best football betting tips from the selected fixtures in the English Premier League, The Championship and across Europes Major leagues, and League Cups covering matches taking place between the 5th to the 7th March 2019

Championship | Millwall vs Bristol City

After Rotherham fell to West Brom on Saturday, Millwall’s Championship survival was confirmed after a rocky end to the season. Bristol City’s loss to Derby all but ended their quest for an unlikely playoff spot; they’ll need six points from their remaining two fixtures if they are to have any chance of leapfrogging Boro’ or Derby. It’s all on City here, with Millwall’s job done in the league. City’s form is woeful, but enough to gain a spirited win at the Den.

Bristol City to win @ 2.00

Championship | Tottenham vs Ajax

Tottenham’s loss to West Ham on Saturday will have left a heavy cloud over their Champions League semi-final with Ajax on Tuesday. A lack of ideas against the Hammers forced a 1-0 loss at the new stadium, with Son, Alli, Eriksen and Lucas Moura failing to break through a robust defence on Saturday lunchtime. Ajax have lost just once in 15 matches, with the Amsterdammers scoring 13 goals in their last four wins. Scoring an away goal will be top priority for the visitors; they’ve netted in all but two of their last 22 matches on the road. Both teams to score looks sensible. This Ajax side are a delight to watch.

Championship | Swansea City vs Derby County

It’s nearly job done for Frank Lampard and his side’s quest for a playoff spot. A win at Bristol City on Saturday has given them a huge advantage in the race for sixth, with City and Middlesborough needing Derby to slip up twice in their remaining two. Swansea’s season is over as they look to rebuild next season. The Swans are unbeaten in their last three, but will struggle to match Derby’s intensity. Back the Rams in a season-defining victory.

Ligue 1 | Rennes vs Monaco

A penalty shootout win in the French Cup final against PSG has given Rennes the perfect ending to their season. Their league form has seen them hover around mid-table, with their remaining five matches expected to peter out in underwhelming fashion. Monaco are still battling relegation after a nightmare season; a win against a hungover Rennes would give them breathing space running down the stretch of their remaining fixtures. Monaco have won more league games on the road than at home this season, and this could be another case of an away victory.

Monaco to win @ 2.50

Football League One | Portsmouth vs Peterborough

This game in hand for Pompey needs to end in victory if they are to keep their hopes alive of automatic promotion. Six points from their remaining two matches – coupled with either Barnsley or Luton dropping points on the final day – would see them into the top two spots, so it’s hard to see the hosts tripping up against Peterborough on Tuesday. The hosts are unbeaten in their last 10 matches at Fratton Park, with the Posh struggling for form. A home win will set up a nail-biting end to League One.

Portsmouth to win @ 1.65

Over 2.5 goals @ 1.70

UEFA Europa League | Arsenal vs Valencia

Three losses on the bounce conceding nine goals; Arsenal are in free-fall at the end of the season. A semi-final Europa League first leg will provide them with respite from domestic matters as they look to dent Valencia’s hopes in North London. Valencia have lost their last two but seem to come alive in this competition – they’ve not lost a Europa League tie in their last seven outings. The Gunners tend to perform at home and will be confident in taking a lead to Spain.

Arsenal to win and both teams to score @ 4.00

UEFA Europa League | Eintracht vs Chelsea

Chelsea’s second half performance against Man United showed a resolve that has been missing from Sarri’s side for a majority of the season. It was the first time they have picked up a point away from home against the top nine in the league, with a stronghold on fourth following Arsenal’s defeat. Frankfurt are in worrying form despite a strong season. Sitting fourth in the Bundesliga, the German side are in their own race for Champions League football next season. With just one win in their last five, Frankfurt are there to be got at. Chelsea will prioritize a goal, and get it, even if they don’t take an advantage to West London.

Both teams to score @ 1.70

Premier League  | Everton vs Burnley FC

Everton are still battling for a Europa League spot next season, but with Burnley’s run of form in 2019 it’ll be a hard task for Silva to grab all three points on Friday night under the Goodison Park lights. The Toffees have won their last three home games without conceding, and with Burnley fresh off the back of two tiring clashes with Man City and Chelsea, Silva may well forge openings in Dyche’s defence. Burnley have done well enough on their travels to keep this fixture tight until the end.

Everton to win @ 1.55

Under 2.5 goals @ 2.00
