The Championship – Betting Tips
The Championship Betting Tips – 14th September – 17th September, 2018
The following are betting tips for selected fixtures in The Championship, covering matches taking place between the 14th September and 17th September, 2018.
Birmingham vs West Brom
Birmingham – one of three sides yet to notch up a league victory in the Championship – will be wary of the visit of their midlands rivals on Friday night, with the Baggies netting a league’s best 15 goals already this campaign. Seven, let’s not forget, were against QPR, and with Birmingham only conceding a goal a game on average, the visitors need to take their chances. West Brom have got the better of the Blues recently; an away win at 2.20 is fair.
West Brom to win @ 2.25 with Betway | Bet £10.00, return £22.50
Under 2.5 goals @ 1.76 with Smarkets | Bet £10.00, return £17.60
Both teams not to score @ 2.00 with Smarkets | Bet £10.00, return £20.00
Brentford vs Wigan
Two sides looking to play the most attractive football in the Championship this season. Brentford are three from three at Griffin Park this season, with Saturday likely to yield the same result. Wigan haven’t scored on their last two visits to West London. This run may not continue, but the Bees should be able to get all three points as they push into the top three.
Brentford to win @ 1.84 with Smarkets | Bet £10.00, return £18.40
Rotherham v Derby
Frank Lampard has steadied the ship after being obliterated 4-1 by Leeds United. With four wins and twelve points from their opening six, the Rams look like a tricky obstacle for a majority of the Championship. Rotherham have only found the net five times so far this season, and with Derby likely to score at the New York Stadium, the Millers will struggle to come away with any points.
Derby to win @ 2.20 with Smarkets | Bet £10.00, return £22.00
Over 2.5 goals @ 2.15 with Marathon | Bet £10.00, return £21.50
Swansea vs Nott'm Forest
Forest are stuttering along, waiting to kick into gear in a season that promised so much for Karanka’s side. One win, one loss and four draws have been the story of their season so far; Swansea have had a much more proactive start. Despite this, the Swans have already lost twice at home this campaign, once to Bristol City and once to Palace in the League Cup. Head-to-heads go out the window here with the sides not meeting since 2011. A draw would follow the form of both sides.
Swansea vs Nottm Forest draw @ 3.40 with Bet365 | Bet £10.00, return £18.70
Blackburn v Aston Villa
Two home wins split last years Championship fixtures between these two historic clubs, and with both tied on nine points and identical records, don’t expect much to separate these two on Saturday. As much as Villa look like scoring this season, they look just as vulnerable at the other end, with Steve Bruce struggling to swim against the tide of pressure mounting on him. Villa will continue to play with freedom, which should equal goals… at both end.
Over 2.5 goals @ 2.26 with Marathon | Bet £10.00, return £22.60
