The Championship – Betting Tips
The Championship Betting Tips – 23rd – 26th November 2018
The following are betting tips for selected fixtures in The Championship, covering matches taking place between the 23rd and 26th November 2018
Hull vs Nottingham Forest
Forest – along with Middlesbrough – remain the side with the fewest losses this campaign in the Championship. Just two defeats sees Karanka’s side sit in seventh, just six points off Norwich at the summit. Their tight defence has been a huge part of this reason. Averaging conceding under one goal a game, Forest will fancy shutting out a Hull side who are averaging scoring under one goal a game. Hull, sitting in 22nd spot, need to kick on after taking seven points from their last nine. A positive result is possible this weekend, but it’s likely to be low scoring.
Under 2.5 goal @ 1.75 with Marathon Bet | Stake £10, return £17.50
Forest / draw double chance @ 1.57 with Bet 365 | Stake £10, return £15.70
Sheffield Wed vs Derby
Despite looking the complete package this season, Derby still have slip ups in them. A 3-0 home loss to Aston Villa before the international break underlined some of their frailties, with a feisty trip to Sheffield a good opportunity to get back on the bike. Wednesday have taken one point from their last fifteen available – the joint worst in the league’s form table; a high-energy visit from the Rams will be of concern. Derby need to win these matches to stay in and amongst the chasing pack – I expect them to do so.
Derby win @ 2.15 with Black Type | Stake £10, return £21.50
Stoke vs QPR
Stoke are still scrapping around for points. Just five wins since their return to the Championship has seen them loiter in 14th spot, with nothing much to shout about at the Bet365 Stadium. A visit from the unpredictable QPR will be of concern as the West Londoners continue their charge towards the playoffs. Despite Norwich, QPR have to be considered one of the form teams in the league, winning five of their last seven, losing one. There won’t be much in this one, however, both sides should find the net in a likely draw.
Stoke-QPR draw @ 3.50 with Black Type | Stake £10, return £35.00
Both teams to score @ 1.91 with Ladbrokes | Stake £10, return £19.10
Brentford vs Middlesbrough
Boro – despite their lack of real entertainment – are looking strong candidates to ease their way back into the Premier League. Pulis has sured up their defence conceding only eight times in seventeen matches this season; their only troubles are found at the other end of the pitch. Their nineteen goals are the second fewest inside the top eighteen sides – surprising as they sit second, just two points off the lead. Brentford’s struggles don’t look likely to end. Since their strong start to the season the Bees have slipped down the standings gradually, now settling in fifteenth. They will be a goal threat on Saturday evening, but shouldn’t cause a third defeat for Middlesbrough.
Middlesbrough win @ 1.44 with Uni Bet | Stake £10, return £14.40
Aston Villa vs Birmingham
The first Second City derby of the season, and with both sides locked on 24 points it couldn’t be closer pre-match. With back-to-back wins, Villa have to be considered the home side. This, coupled with home advantage, see their price of 1.85 too good to ignore for the three points. Birmingham have turned their season around after a poor start, however, their troubles look like resurfacing again after going two league matches without a win. Birmingham haven’t won this league fixture since 2005; don’t expect this run to come to an end.
Aston Villa to win @ 1.93 with Black Type | Stake £10, return £19.30
