Weekend Tip Sheet
The following are our best football betting tips from the selected fixtures in the English Premier League, The Championship and across Europes Major leagues, covering matches taking place between the 15th and 17th December, 2018.
Premier League | Man City vs Everton
City aren’t the sort of side who will mope about after a Premier League loss. They looked out of sorts at Stamford Bridge last weekend, with the omission on Aguero, KDB and David Silva (for the second half) a real struggle for Pep’s side. They’ll bounce back against an Everton side who look good in spells, but are still struggling for a consistent winning run. This fixture has finished 1-1 the last two times at the Etihad; despite winning just one of their four meetings against the Toffees, expect Guardiola to get it right on Saturday. Richarlison will be looking to shine, with the Brazilian potentially netting a consolation.
Man City 3-1 @ 11.50 with BetVictor
Over 2.5 goals @ 1.41 with Uni Bet
Premier League | Brighton vs Chelsea
Chelsea cruised in this fixture last year after blitzing the Seagulls inside the first 15 minutes. This Sarri side are a little different, looking to entice Brighton into attacks and picking them off at relative ease. It won’t be that easy, however. Brighton will pick up most of their points at the AMEX this season, with a single goal likely to separate these two. Don’t expect many goals here, with a narrow Chelsea victory.
Chelsea to win @ 1.52 with Uni Bet
Under 2.5 goals @ 2.13 with Black Type
Premier League | Tottenham vs Burnley
After the highs of midweek in the Camp Nou, will the lows follow with Spurs hosting Burnley? It’s unlikely. Poch’s side look comfortable at Wembley with Son the key candidate in a dissection of a poor Burnley side. It speaks volumes to suggest Joe Hart has been their best player so far this season, as the Englishman looks to fend off Kane, Son, Eriksen and co. Tottenham have won three of the previous five meetings, however, this season sees the biggest gulf between sides in a while. Tottenham in the handicaps market looks solid.
Tottenham -2 handicap @ 1.90 with Bet Victor
Heung-Min Son to score @ 2.25 with Betway
The Championship | QPR vs Middlesbrough
QPR are slipping back down the Championship table. Their Autumn turnaround looks to have come to an end having just claimed two points from the last four matches, however, Boro’ are having a similarly sticky time. Losses to Villa and draws against Blackburn and Preston, Boro’ have stumbled to sixth as Leeds and Norwich march on at the top. Both sides will be struggling for confidence, and both sides are prone to the under 2.5 goals market.
Under 2.5 goals @ 1.7 with Betfair
The Championship | Aston Villa vs Stoke
Life under Dean Smith is fairly rosey for Villa at the moment. A huge win at the Riverside a fortnight ago was the flagship result they needed; a tough test awaits them as Stoke arrive unbeaten in their last eight. Both sides have been prone to draws this season, and as they push towards the top six Villa and Stoke will be keen to keep their unbeaten runs going. A stalemate is highly likely at Villa Park this weekend.
Aston Villa-Stoke draw @ 3.70 with Bet 365
The Championship | Derby vs Nottingham Forest
This is a big derby in the Championships. Neither side will want to gift the other three points, with just one point separating each other in the playoff spots. Forest haven’t won this fixture since 2015, with three Derby home wins since; this year looks like a real shootout between two well balanced sides. Derby are winning matches narrowly, with Frank Lampard instilling a real grit in the Rams. A win at Pride Park will do wonders for their run up to Christmas, but it wont be easy. Avoid the outright markets.
Both teams to score @ 1.75 with Betfair
Serie A | Inter vs Udinese
It was a case of Inter proving “Inter-y” on Tuesday night instead of Spurs proving “Spurs-y”. Their 1-1 draw at home to PSV consigned them to the Europa League for the rest of the season, as Spalletti begins to prioritise Serie A. Udinese are a nice side to face after a disappointing result. The visitors have won only three in 15 league matches, with just one coming away from home. Inter’s league form has suffered of late as well, with Icardi scoring just twice since the end of October – a drop in form for his standards. Inter should bounce back this weekend, but it won’t be pretty.
Inter win @ 1.36 with Marathon Bet
Under 2.5 goals @ 2.20 with 188 Bet
Serie A | Cagliari vs Napoli
Napoli find themselves in a strange position this season. Eight points off of Juventus at the top of the Serie A table and six clear of inter in third; now, out of the Champions League after a limited performance at Anfield on Tuesday, Ancelotti has to invigorate his side to a solid run into 2019. Cagliari are the draw specialists in Italy. Over half their matches this season have finished in a share of the spoils, with an eighth a good price this weekend. Napoli are wounded without any real ambition on the horizon.
Cagliari-Napoli draw @ 4.80 with Bet Victor
