AC Milan vs Roma (Serie A)

Milan are still licking their wounds after losing 3-2 away in Naples after leading 2-0 at half-time; Roma are brimming after pegging two goals back to escape with a draw against Atalanta. Milan are still an unknown quantity in terms of a title challenge, however, Higuain, Caldara and Bakayoko will only add to an already competent squad from last season. Meetings between these two sides has favoured the away side recently with four out of the last six matches ending in away wins; notably Roma have won their last three trips to the San Siro. It’s too early in the season to form too many judgements on each sides’ projected finishes, although Milan will be up against it once again with a buoyant Roma in town.

Parma vs Juventus (Serie A)

Parma are back in the Italian top flight after three years away, however, the narrative will continue to circle around when and if Cristiano Ronaldo will find the net. The Portuguese star is becoming infamous for his slow starts to seasons recently (slow in comparison to the ridiculous targets he sets himself), and has been priced up at 1.44 to score at anytime in this, his third attempt. Parma are without a win since their return to Serie A, and will struggle against the Scudetto holders.

Juventus to win to nil @ 1.67 with Ladbrokes | Stake £10, return £16.70

Real Madrid vs Leganes (La Liga)

Gareth Bale is continuing to fill the Ronaldo void with impressive displays in the white of Madrid. The Champions League holders blew Girona away on Sunday after going a goal behind, with a similar display of muscle-flexing expected this weekend. Leganes are still clinging onto their famous Copa del Rey victory over Madrid earlier this year; their seven defeats in other clashes are a stark reminder in the difference between these respective clubs. Leganes have lost their last eight away league games… Madrid will make it a convincing nine.

Barcelona vs Huesca (La Liga)

Huesca have shown themselves to be the plucky underdogs already in La Liga. A win away at Eibar followed by an away draw to Bilbao, the side who are making their debut in Spain’s top tier will travel to the Camp Nou with nothing to fear. Much has changed since Barcelona’s 12-1 aggregate Copa del Rey win in 2014, with the minnows dreaming of making headlines for the right reasons. Barcelona are yet to concede having won their first two opening matches 3-0 and 1-0; a Huesca win is unimaginable, but a goal for the away side shows good returns with Barcelona leaving gaps as players get more and more adventurous.

Both teams to score @ 2.38 with William Hill | Stake £10, return £23.80

Celtic v Rangers (Scottish Premier League)

Winless in the last fourteen Old Firm derbies, Rangers turn to youth as Steven Gerrard prepares to take on his old manager, Brendan Rodgers, at Celtic Park. Having made an excellent start to life in the hot seat, Rangers are unbeaten in competitive matches this season with just one point separating the sides come kick-off. Celtic have won the last two home Old Firm’s by an aggregate of 9-0; it’s a concern that this derby may have come a little early in the tenure of the former Liverpool captain. This being said, Celtic have only scored four times in their three Premiership matches, with Rangers netting six times. Rangers will contest this fixture and aren’t expected to be walked over. A home win, however, is still where the money is… albeit by a more modest margin.

Celtic to win @ 1.71 with Smarkets | Stake £10, return £17.10
