Middlesbrough vs Derby
Despite a 0-0 draw midweek against the unfancied Rotherham, Boro’ still sit joint top of the Championship with Leeds and Sheff Utd. Scoring goals has been their problem so far, averaging at just over one a game; thankfully, Pulis has tightened up their defence to the best in the league by some distance. Derby are unbeaten in their last four and have edged to within two points of the leaders. Lampard will know that a win this Saturday will see them leapfrog the hosts to the top of the league. Derby are the form side. It’s a punt, but backing an away win shows great value in such an unpredictable league.

West Brom vs Blackburn
With back-to-back defeats, the Baggies have slipped into fourth spot in the Championship, two points off the summit. Blackburn lost their latest fixture too, but have developed some form over the past few weeks that has seen them creep into contention. Despite slipping, West Brom will continue to be a massive threat in front of goal; Blackburn look too weak at the back to negate this goal threat.

Norwich vs Brentford
Brentford have really gone off the boil in the Championship. After starting strong, the Bees have sunk to fifteenth, with only four wins in their fourteen outings. Norwich have replaced Brentford as the side knocking on the playoff door; the Canaries have won back-to-back matches against two big scalps – Villa and Forest. The form is with the home side, despite them sometimes looking a little blunt in attack. Back a narrow home win.

Swansea vs Reading
With just three wins all season Reading are struggling in twenty-second place. Swansea are picking up in form after a tricky start, but are still far from the finished article. Swansea’s issue looks to be in front of goal, however, with Reading leaking 23 already, the Welsh side will get a plethora of chances. Expect Reading to continue to slide as Swansea go from strength to strength. Expect a comfortable home win.

Leeds United vs Nottm Forest
This is one of the standout ties of the Championship weekend. With a retro Premier League feel, Leeds welcome the challenge of Forest who have been quietly going about their business. Both sides have only lost two matches each this season, with tight defensive displays continuing to keep them in the conversation of each fixture. Forest have won ten of their 22 points on the road this season and are more than capable of scoring at Elland Road. Despite a couple of wobbles, Leeds still look the complete Championship package.
