The Championship – Betting Tips

The Championship Betting Tips – 9th – 12th November 2018

The following are betting tips for selected fixtures in The Championship, covering matches taking place between the 9th and 12th November 2018

QPR vs Brentford

QPR’s run finished last weekend as Brentford’s started again. McClaren’s side fell 1-0 to Blackburn, whereas Brentford got their fifth win of the season against Millwall – in essence these two sides are relatively well matched this season. QPR’s lack of goals is still a concern. Averaging at under one goal a game, slip ups are inevitable if they don’t keep clean sheets. Brentford started the season very well; they’ll be keen to push on until Christmas at least. QPR have lost four of the last five matches against Brentford – they’ll be able to steal a point this time.

Nottingham Forest vs Stoke City

Along with Boro and Leeds, Forest have only lost twice so far this season. Sitting in sixth, Karanka’s side are looking good for a strong push for promotion sitting just four points off the joint leaders. Stoke are continuing to struggle with a minus goal difference and just five wins in their 16 matches since their relegation to the second tier. Forest have conceded just once in their last 270 minutes of football; Stoke will struggle to breach their defence away from home. A Forest win looks likely with current form, at a great price.

Birmingham vs Hull City

Birmingham were never expected to challenge for promotion this season, however, after their recent resurgence in form, the Blues sit in tenth just seven points off of the lead. A fortnight ago Hull looked certainties for relegation. Now, after back-to-back wins, the Tigers are climbing out of the hole they found themselves in in September, despite their apparent blunt attacking options. Despite taking the lead against Derby last weekend, Birmingham fell 3-1 at Pride Park in the end – this shouldn’t lead to their wheels falling off. A home win looks likely, even against this punchy Hull side.

Derby vs Aston Villa

Derby – along with Preston – are the only side to go without defeat in their last five league matches. Their victory against Birmingham last weekend underlined their spirit under Lampard as they edged up to fifth in the league. Villa are teetering on the edge. The run up to Christmas will inevitably decide what kind of season they will have – contention or survival. Derby look so strong going forward, creating endless chances week-in-week-out.

West Brom vs Leeds

West Brom were scoring their way to the Championship summit just weeks ago, however, with one point taken from their last four matches, the Baggies have lost their spring. Scoring just twice in these four matches is the main reason; with 33 goals scored so far, they have often outscored sides to get all three points. Leeds, on the other hand, have only conceded 13, and if West Brom continue to blank in front of goal, the visitors could sneak a victory. The likelihood, however, is that these two sides cancel each other out. Both would arguably take a point before kick off, with a 0-0 worth backing.

West Brom 0-0 Leeds @ 14.00 with Bet Stars | Stake £10, return £140.00
