Weekend Tip Sheet

The following are our best football betting tips from the selected fixtures in the English Premier League, The Championship and across Europes Major leagues, covering matches taking place between the 7th and 10th December, 2018.

Premier League | Bournemouth vs Liverpool

Liverpool are showing the mark of champions in any normal season. The problem for them is that a league involving Man City in this form can’t be normal. They won a gritty match away at Burnley midweek with Alisson proving every penny of his worth; a trip to the Vitality will be a different prospect with the Cherries back on form. Bournemouth sit in seventh however have begun to show frailties at the back; their last six matches have resulted in both teams scoring. Despite Liverpool’s solid defence, Bournemouth should breach it this weekend.

Premier League | Manchester United vs Fulham

Despite picking up just a point against Arsenal on Wednesday, Jose’s side showed a lot of heart in bouncing back twice. It’s still an uphill struggle for United at Old Trafford, however, Fulham aren’t showing much resistance at the moment. Ranieri is looking to sure up their defence but is still green in the job. As turbulent as things are in Manchester at the moment, this fixture should secure Mourinho’s job until Christmas. A comfortable home win shows better value than once expected.

Premier League | Newcastle vs Wolves

Wolves bounced back to life in a 2-1 win over Chelsea in midweek; this may prove to be the result that Nuno needed in an important run until Christmas. Newcastle gained a point away at Everton meaning they’ve won 10 points from the last 15 available – good form for Rafa’s dramatic tenure. Both teams will fancy this, with both defence’s leaking of late. The overs market looks favourable at a great price.

The Championship | Leeds vs QPR

Leeds are back in form after a tricky period. Their three wins on the bounce have landed them in second spot, breathing down the neck of the Canaries. QPR are winless in three after a strong period through October and November, they’ve still only won three away games this season, however. Leeds look likely to charge towards top-spot in the run-up until Christmas. The longer Bielsa has to work on his side the more compact and impressive they look. The home side should canter to a win; this match would have been a lot different a month ago.

The Championship | Nottingham Forest vs Preston N.E.

Forest have lost the least amount of games in the Championship – just two. These two failures were in 2-1 defeats to Norwich (top of the league) and a Brentford side who started strong. This sums up Karanka’s side. They are hard to beat, hard to pin down and nail to the canvas. Their 5-5 draw with Aston Villa just over a week ago was symbolic of their desire this season. Preston have won only a quarter of their league fixtures; the amount they concede is a problem. Forest should win this one; back the goals to flow.

The Championship | Reading vs Sheffield United

Reading are in free-fall. Sitting in 21st place, the Royals sacked their manager Neil Clement this week as they look to inject life into their season. Sheffield United are enjoying life at the other end of the table as they look to leapfrog their rivals back into the top three. Sheffield United have won three of the last four meetings, with over 2.5 goals being scored in all four. Back this trend to continue as the Blades tear into a directionless Reading.

Serie A | AC Milan vs Torino

Both teams have scored in 12 of Milan’s 15 last fixtures. Although this isn’t a glowing review of their season so far, Gattuso’s side are performing well under pressure. Sitting fourth, Milan are keeping pace with the best teams in the league; Torino are one of the sides breathing down their necks. Over 2.5 goals is highly expected in this one. It won’t be a stroll for Milan who may drop two points.

La Liga | Huesca vs Real Madrid

Slowly, slowly, Madrid are piecing their season back together. They’ve won three of their last four league matches, however, the reigning Champions League winners are still five points off the pace of Barcelona. Five points is nothing, but saying this, Solari’s side need a solid run of form in the run up to Christmas if they are to leapfrog the likes of Deportivo, Atleti and Sevilla. Huesca are rock bottom with just one win all season. With a goal difference of 12-29 the hosts are likely to be worn down by the visitors.
