Weekend Tip Sheet

The following are our best football betting tips from the selected fixtures in the English Premier League, The Championship and across Europes Major leagues, covering matches taking place between the 26th and 27th December, 2018.

Premier League | Fulham vs Wolves

Wolves are yo-yoing between the top and bottom halves of the table, with Fulham firmly rooted to the bottom of it. The Ranieri-reign hasn’t had the immediate impact that was hoped for at the Cottage, with the West London club conceding 42 goals in their 18 matches. Wolves have shown their capabilities at the back this season, and with just one loss to Fulham in their last ten meetings, an away win looks a good price.

Premier League | Liverpool vs Newcastle

Liverpool sit four points clear at the top of the league coming into these Boxing Day fixtures, with City tumbling to two defeats in their last three outings. Things are well and truly clicking for Klopp, with his rotation policy suiting all parties. Van Dijk has a command over his defence; a defence that has conceded just seven times. Newcastle are the league’s second lowest scorers, with this fixture looking likely to go one way. Follow the formbook here, with a home win to nil.

Premier League | Man United vs Huddersfield

United hit five against Cardiff for the first time in the Premier League since the Fergie years. If this wasn’t a sign of the shackles being taken off since the departure of Mourinho, then I don’t know what is. Huddersfield could feel the force of a rejuvenated United under Solskjaer, as Martial, Rashford and Lingard look to terrorize the Terriers. Take a look at the handicap markets here, with smiles being put on United faces again.

Premier League | Arsenal v Brighton

Arsenal got over their mini-wobble in style this past weekend with a dominant win over Burnley; there will still be concerns for Emery at how many goals they continue to let slide in. Brighton are solid at the Amex, but pedestrian away from home. Three losses on the spin for the Seagulls has seen them slip to thirteenth, as they continue to aim for the top half of the table. Brighton won this fixture last season 2-1 – I wouldn’t be surprised to see them come away with a point this time around.

The Championship | Leeds v Blackburn

Leeds are marching on together towards automatic promotion. Sunday’s last minute winner at Villa Park has seen them forge a six point gap between top and third; Bielsa still has work to do, however. Blackburn are winless in their last three and have slipped down to fourteenth. With 10 draws in 23 matches, Rovers have missed several chances to kick on this campaign. Leeds look fairly unstoppable at the moment. The league leaders could take this one at a canter.

The Championship | Swansea v Aston Villa

Just one point separates these two sides in a fixture that is expected to be close to call. Villa have been the entertainers so far this season with 82 goals featuring in their 23 matches; Swansea, less so, with the Welsh side struggling in front of goal. Both sides are in indifferent form, and with the Christmas schedule causing havoc to training schedules, this one could peter out. Backing the 0-0 here shows real value. Yes, Villa love goals, but Swansea could nullify them – a point would suit both.

The Championship | QPR vs Ipswich

Back-to-back wins have seen QPR rise up to tenth, in a season that has seen them differ in form greatly. Their win at Forest will be one of the standout results of the season if it amounts to anything, as they sit four points off the playoffs. Ipswich are in trouble. Four points from safety with just two wins all season – it’s looking bleak for the Tractor Boys. QPR won’t make it easy for themselves. Both teams to score looks a good option, with QPR prevailing.

Serie A | Inter vs Napoli

Napoli continue to win matches in Serie A, but are stuck in limbo in second place with eight points separating them either side! Inter are the side below them, and will fancy chopping this to five with a win inside the San Siro. Inter have looked most dangerous at home this campaign, with one loss to Parma on their record. Both of the last two meetings between these two has finished 0-0; the one before was a 1-0 win to Napoli.
