Weekend Tipsheet, 11th January, 2019 | Football Betting Tips | Football Advisor

Weekend Tip Sheet

The following are our best football betting tips from the selected fixtures in the English Premier League, The Championship and across Europes Major leagues, covering matches taking place between the 11th and 14th January, 2019.

Premier League | West Ham vs Arsenal

This will be a tricky trip across London for Emery’s Arsenal. Despite winning five of their last six fixtures against the Hammers, this London derby historically throws up some rogue results. 16-3 to Arsenal is the aggregate score of the last six meetings; West Ham’s recent form suggests Saturday’s score will be a lot narrower than recent results. The return of Arnautovic is a real boost for the hosts, however, Arsenal have also received positive team news after a mini injury crisis. This early fixture should be competitive. A share of the points looks likely.

Premier League | Brighton vs Liverpool

Brighton’s home form suggests this meeting won’t be a walk in the park for the league leaders. Back-to-back defeats against City and Wolves have began the inevitable questions surrounding Liverpool’s credentials for a Premier League title. Brighton have already won five of their home fixtures this season; the arrival of the Reds will prove their toughest yet. Glenn Murray’s eight goals are the biggest threat to van Dijk and the Liverpool back four. If they can keep it goalless late in the fixture, Brighton have a chance of a positive result. If Liverpool score more than one, it’s hard to imagine Brighton countering. Liverpool have won the last six meetings, scoring 4, 5 and 6 in three of them.

Premier League | Leicester vs Southampton

Leicester's strange season of results peaked in the FA Cup as they fell to lowly Newport County. Rumours surrounding Puel’s future still swirls around the King Power, and with Hassenhuttl’s rejuvenated Saints visiting this weekend it’s a prime fixture for an upset. Southampton are still struggling for goals, but may flourish away from the pressures of Saint Mary’s. Leicester have won one of their last four matches, but look ready to crack at any opportunity.

Premier League | Everton vs Bournemouth

Bournemouth are shipping goals at the moment. 12 goals conceded in their past three league matches has seen them fall to twelfth in the league after a strong start in the top six. Everton are hardly in form, but their attacking threat will remain throughout this season, even if they struggle defensively. This fixture is famous for it’s surprising scorelines and late drama; there is nothing in the form to suggest this won’t change this weekend.

The Championship | Reading vs Nottingham Forest

Reading find themselves five points adrift of safety at the bottom of the Championship, however, Forest have already slipped up to unlikely opposition this season. Three home wins for the Royals gives them a glimmer of hope hosting Karanka’s side – they performed well at Stamford Bridge last weekend in their 2-0 loss. Forest have only won one of their last five in the league, but will be confident ahead of their trip to Reading with Lewis Grabban expected to return. Forest’s price for an away win is too good to ignore, despite the risks of the Championship.

The Championship | Birmingham vs Middlesbrough

Birmingham are one of the form teams in the Championship at the moment, and will fancy their chances against a patchy ‘Boro side. Sitting in fifth, Middlesbrough have only conceded 18 goals in their 26 league matches – Birmingham have proved they aren’t shy in front of goal in recent outings. Middlesbrough have won the last three meetings without conceding a goal; this one looks likely to be a little different.

The Championship | West Brom vs Norwich

Both sides find themselves in the top four, but without a win in their last two league encounters. With 54 goals this campaign, West Brom have blitzed their way to a playoff spot as things stand, with just two home defeats showing their strength at the Hawthorns. Norwich have gathered 49 points in 26 matches, but have won just one of their last five; West Brom could leapfrog the visitors with a home win this weekend. There have been three away wins in their last three meetings without a draw in their last 16 clashes; this run could easily come to an end this weekend with a point suiting both.

Serie A | Napoli vs Lazio

Lazio come into this tie with a terrible record against Napoli. The Naples outfit have won six of the last seven, with a 1-1 draw in 2016 proving the only respite in that period. Napoli’s only three losses have come away from home this season, all against strong opposition. Lazio are clinging onto life in the top four, but have potentially hit their ceiling with Milan and Roma breathing down their necks. Napoli have it in them to win this at a canter.
