Midweek Tip Sheet, 29th January 2019 | Football Betting Tips | Football Advisor

Midweek Tip Sheet

The following are our best football betting tips from the selected fixtures in the English Premier League, The Championship and across Europes Major leagues, covering matches taking place between the 29th and 31st January 2019.

Premier League | Arsenal vs Cardiff

Arsenal’s season is on the verge of implosion once again as they battle against the odds to creep back into the top four. Their loss to United in the cup underlined their obvious defensive issues; luckily for them, Cardiff are the second lowest scorers in the league with just 19 in 23. The reverse fixture produced a 3-2 Arsenal win in Wales, however, expect Emery to have an easier time at the Emirates. Even Arsenal’s defence should be able to keep out the newly promoted visitors.

Arsenal to win and both teams not to score @ 2.10

Premier League | Wolves vs West Ham

West Ham’s loss to AFC Wimbledon in the FA Cup was a timely reminder of their inconsistencies under Pellegrini. A positive result is often cushioned by a defeat, with the Hammers loitering in tenth in the league. Wolves have scored six goals in their last two matches after struggling for a lot of the season. Wolves won this fixture 1-0 back in September, and may have the nous to scrape through once again. It’s likely to be low scoring.

Premier League | Man United vs Burnley

It’s eight from eight for Ole Gunnar Solksjaer at the United helm; a home test against Burnley is low on the threat-level list for the Norwegian after a string of wins against Spurs and Arsenal. Burnley are up to sixteenth after avoiding defeat in their last four league outings but still look shy in front of goal, lacking options. Their 5-0 loss to City in the cup can be chalked off, with Dyche prioritizing league performances. United will continue to pass test after test, with goals proving their main weapon.

The Championship | Swansea vs Birmingham

Swansea are up to eleventh after struggling for consistency all season. They are unbeaten in four as well as progressing into the fifth round of the FA Cup. The Swans’ home form has been of concern having lost five in the league at the Liberty. Birmingham have struggled against sides in the top half of the table this season with a much-needed improvement desired to jump back into the top half. The Blues have scored in their previous ten away Championship matches.

Both teams to score @ 1.91 with Bet Fred

The Championship | Bolton vs Reading

The true meaning of a “six-pointer” in the Championship as two of the bottom three sides lock horns at the Macron Stadium. Bolton’s home form is of huge concern. Just three wins in 14 attempts, the Wanderers have buckled in front of their own fans. One win on the road for Reading is the caveat in this situation, with the Royals just one point ahead in 22nd. Often, two sides desperate for a win can throw up a stinker; backing the draw here goes with the form.

Premier League | Bournemouth vs Chelsea

What a difference a week made for Chelsea. A loss to Arsenal was followed up with wins against Tottenham and Sheffield Wednesday as Gonzalo Higuain joins to bolster their strike force. Bournemouth are conceding a lot of goals this season and have slipped down to twelfth in the table; only Fulham, Cardiff and Burnley have conceded more. Bournemouth have lost their last five home fixtures against the top five, with Chelsea winning all three of their visits to the Vitality Stadium. The away win looks likely, with an inform Willian a good price to net.

Scottish Premier League | Celtic vs St. Johnstone

Celtic are looking to stretch their legs at the top of the Scottish Premiership after winning their last two matches since the winter break. St. Johnstone are in the hunt having landed in sixth spot; they have squeezed out some unlikely wins this season with seven of their eleven coming away from home (keeping clean sheets in seven). Rogers’ Celtic are yet to lose at home in the league this season and come into Wednesday’s match looking to extend their lead by six points. This ‘game in hand’ should finish in a low scoring home win.

Premier League | Tottenham vs Watford

League Cup and FA Cup losses have left Pochettino scratching his head in his pursuit of silverware this season. The injuries are mounting up, but with Heung-min Son returning to North London, Spurs have another attacking option left. Watford are a threat against any of the big sides and will fancy their chances at Wembley. Spurs have lost four goals at ‘home’ this season, with a further two losses coming away – one was against Watford. I can’t see Tottenham’s week getting too much easier with their backs against the wall. A draw looks sensible.
