Midweek Tip Sheet, 12th February 2019 | Football Betting Tips | Football Advisor

Midweek Tip Sheet

The following are our best football betting tips from the selected fixtures in the English Premier League, The Championship and across Europes Major leagues, and League Cups covering matches taking place between the 4th and 7th February 2019.

Champions League | Roma v Porto

Despite struggling a little for convincing form in recent weeks, Porto’s away form has been spectacular. They are unbeaten in their previous fourteen matches on the road, with only three draws in that entire run. Roma are still reeling from their 7-1 demolition at the hands of Fiorentina in the Coppa. They won 3-0 at Chievo this weekend, but look to have a soft core and a vulnerable defence. Away goals are crucial, and Porto should get one.

Both teams to score @ 1.75

Champions League | Tottenham v Dortmund

Tottenham are morphing into a very pragmatic team capable of winning tight football matches. These two legs against Dortmund may go a long way to defining their season. Spurs were poor against Leicester despite winning 3-1, the Yellow Wall of Dortmund won’t let them off the hook as easily. Dortmund have scored in 14 of their past 15 away games, with Tottenham conceding six in their last six at Wembley. Favre will relish this test, with the visitors recording a vital win.

Dortmund to win @ 2.90

Champions League | Ajax v Real Madrid

Madrid’s derby win on Saturday will give them the confidence ahead of a tricky trip to Amsterdam. Ajax have found their best form in the Champions League this year with a six point deficit to PSV in the league; they are a dangerous team on the break scoring 72 league goals in just 21 matches. Madrid have now won six of their last seven and will hope to rely on their magic in this competition. All roads point to goals in this one, with the over 3.5 goals market showing value. A real slugfest.

Over 3.5 goals @ 2.30

Europa League | Malmo vs Chelsea

Chelsea’s season is in real danger of capitulating before the start of spring. A 6-0 hammering to City was their worst loss in the Premier League, with Sarri left scratching his head having gone four away games without a goal; conceding thirteen. All focus may soon be turned to the Europa League with an effort to reach the Champions League via the back door. Malmo are in a sticky spot of their own. Just two wins in their last six will emphasize the size of the task ahead playing the former winners of this competition. Chelsea have to get this monkey off their back, and should win in Sweden with the pressure off, slightly.

Chelsea to win and both teams to score @ 2.87

Europa League | Celtic vs Valencia

Since Celtic’s wobble at the end of 2018, the Hoops have strolled back into emphatic form with a run of convincing victories. Seven wins with an aggregate score of 21-0 have quashed any concerns over the Rogers regime. Valencia are still struggling to get going this season and currently lie eighth in La Liga; a focus on the Europa League may prevail towards the end of the season. A rocking Celtic Park will be enough to cause Valencia problems on the road once again; they’ve won just once away from the Mestalla in nine attempts. It’s a great price to back the form team in a home win – it’ll be tightly contested.

Celtic to win @ 3.60

Celtic or draw @ 1.80

Europa League | BATE vs Arsenal

Aubameyang’s injury didn’t stop Arsenal winning away at Huddersfield over the weekend; however, the narrow nature of the win will concern Emery with Arsenal remaining the last side not to record an away clean sheet in the Premier League. BATE have more of a ‘group stage’ vibe to them; the Belarusian outfit will do well to keep out the Arsenal attack. It’s a huge step up for a side coming in off the back of their winter break.

Arsenal-Arsenal HT-FT @ 2.10

Europa League | Lazio vs Sevilla

With away losses to Celta Vigo, Athletic Bilbao, Barcelona and Real Madrid since the turn of the year (all without scoring), there will be concern for Pablo Machin on his sides’ visit to Rome. Lazio have won three on the bounce but have struggled to look overly convincing by finding the net just once in all three outings. It’s the first meeting between these two, and the Italian hosts will feel nothing but a win in this opening leg is good enough. Sevilla’s troubles on the road suggest they can get it.

Lazio to win @ 2.35

Europa League | Zurich vs Napoli

Zurich’s home form will allow them to arrive at the Stadion Letzigrund with real confidence in passing a Napoli-sized test. They’ve lost just two of their last seventeen at home with wins recorded against some credible opposition. Napoli are without an away win in 2019 and without a goal in their last four matches on the road; Ancelotti’s side will be prioritizing the Europa League having all but secured second in the league. Napoli will need an away goal to ease them into this tie, and should get it.

Both teams to score @ 1.95
