Weekend Tip Sheet

The following are our best football betting tips from the selected fixtures in the English Premier League, The Championship and across Europes Major leagues, covering matches taking place between the 15th February and 18th February 2019.

The Championship | Aston Villa vs West Brom

The Baggies are still boinging in and around the playoffs spots, with a healthy recent away record enough to give them confidence ahead of their trip to Villa Park. They escaped with a point against Nottm Forest in the week after a last minute equalizer at home; Villa are in a spot of bother themselves with just one win in their last five. The last two meetings between these two have finished in draws, and at 3.40 the price suits the form of both sides.

The Championship | Preston vs Nottm Forest

Apart from the sublime turnaround by Bristol City, Preston could argue to be the form team in the league at the moment. Their 3-1 win over promotion hopefuls Norwich was a real signal of intent for the Lilywhites as they begin their charge towards the top six. A home win would see them level on points with Forest at full-time, and with O’Neil still struggling to settle in at the City Ground, it’s a likely result; Forest are without an away win in their last eight attempts.

Serie A | Atalanta vs AC Milan

You could easily argue that Atalanta and Milan are two of the form teams in Serie A at the moment. They’ve taken a combined 24 points in their last ten matches together, remaining unbeaten in the process. You’d assume something has to budge on Saturday. Atalanta have the best attacking record in the league with 50 goals in 23 matches; Zapata is leading the march with 16 league goals, just two shy of Ronaldo. Paqueta and Piatek have settled in well at the San Siro, and are expected to be a huge threat in attack. Gattuso’s trust of youth finally looks to be reaping the rewards. Expect this one to be a shootout, with both sides confident of a win. Goals, goals, goals.

FA Cup | Brighton vs Derby

Lampard will be looking to continue Derby’s impressive run in the cup competitions this season. The Rams are unbeaten in four of their last five away days, this being said, Brighton are beginning to gain quite a reputation at the AMEX; this reputation hasn’t stretched to their last four home ventures. Brighton don’t concede many goals at home, however, Derby are definitely the form side. Derby could scrape through in this one, but it may not be pretty.

FA Cup | Newport County vs Man City

Man City are in destructive form as we enter the crunch time in their quest for four trophies. Newport County have earned the tag of “giant killer” over the past couple of seasons, but the size of the Man City giant is on another scale. The pitch may cause City problems for the first ten minutes, but the machine will soon adapt, and put the League Two side to the sword. City have scored a bucket load of goals in the first 15 minutes this season; back the deadlock to be broken before minute 19. Pep will want this done before half time.

FA Cup | AFC Wimbledon vs Millwall

A set of unlikely fifth-rounders meet for a place in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup – a huge achievement for both AFC Wimbledon and Millwall. West Ham and Everton were beaten, respectively, by these two sides in the previous round. Apart from their win over the Hammers, AFC Wimbledon have been in abysmal form in League One. They have taken two points from their previous seven league matches and have subsequently found themselves stranded at the bottom of the league. Millwall have only beaten Everton in their last five outings but will fancy their trip to Kingsmeadow

The Championship | Blackburn vs Middlesbrough

Blackburn’s three losses in a row have seen them slump back into fourteenth after putting some good pressure on the playoff spots. Boro’ are still going strong, and despite dips in form, their defence still continues to keep them out of any real trouble. They are still in sixth, but with a decent run of fixtures coming up Pulis will be looking up not down. Blackburn’s lack of form can’t be ignored. Incredibly, five of the last six have ended in draws, with just one in eight ending in over 2.5 goals.

FA Cup | Swansea vs Brentford

Brentford’s topsy-turvy season is back on the up. Their new stadium is due to be finished ahead of the 2020-21 season, so remaining in the Championship is of the highest concern; four wins in their last five league matches have eased those concerns after a run of one win in ten. Swansea’s lack of consistency will stunt their attempts at promotion this season, however, a run in the FA Cup may soon take priority. Most of their troubles have been on the road, however, they are not scoring freely enough. Brentford’s backbone is back, with Neal Maupay continuing to score important goals.
